Inspiring and developing innovation and business opportunities in the space economy: "The role of new technologies"

POWER, MARCH 28, 2019CONTAMINATION LAB/UNIBAS On March 28th, at 3:00 PM, in room A10 DiMIE, the CLabbers met Openet, one of the most dynamic Italian companies in the satellite telecommunications sector, capable of providing advanced and innovative services in the processes of overcoming the digital divide. The high level of innovation offered by OPENET in terms of systems and content is confirmed by the fruitful collaboration the company has consolidated over time with the Italian and European Space Agencies (ASI and ESA), and with leading international institutions such as the United Nations, the European Parliament and Commission, and the Committee of the Regions, as well as major private industrial groups. The meeting's leitmotif was the world of the "Space Economy" and, specifically, the role of new technologies in innovation and business opportunities. Describing the opportunity scenario in the Space Economy, OPENET presented its Business Accelerator SPARKme, born thanks to the collaboration with ASI/ESA, making it available to students involved in C-LAB business opportunities related to the space sector with particular attention to SATCOM. The Contamination Lab of the University of Basilicata (CLabUnibas) aims to be an open skills laboratory of a physical, virtual and relational nature that, by adopting an interdisciplinary approach and innovative models of involvement, participation, learning, experimentation and communication, fulfills the function of catalyst, breeder and promoter of culture and knowledge for entrepreneurship and innovation.
